James M. Robinson Jr., special education teacher at College Achieve Public Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academia.

With a decade of experience to his credit, Mr. Robinson has built a successful career in academia, specializing in special education and reading comprehension. He currently serves as a special education teacher at College Achieve Public Schools, a position he has held since 2023. His experience includes working as a paraprofessional, and he also dedicates his time as a youth pastor at Community Baptist Church, a role he has held since 2011. In his current teaching position, he supports 7th-grade students in the regular classroom by assisting with reading, math, science, and history. He works closely with special education students, taking them to a separate classroom to focus on their specific struggles in math and reading based on their state test scores. He spends dedicated time with each special education student twice a week to provide targeted support, helping them improve academically. Additionally, he dedicates his time as a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.

Reflecting on his journey, Mr. Robinson made a pivotal decision in 2021 to transition from being a paraprofessional to pursuing his dream of becoming a special education teacher. He returned to school and enrolled in a Master of Arts in Teaching program with a concentration in special education, which he completed in 2024. His career at College Achieve Public Schools began as a substitute teacher, where he gained valuable experience teaching health and filling in for other educators. Inspired by his aunt, who was a school teacher, and his personal experience with having a speech impediment, he was motivated to specialize in special education. He attributes his success to his faith in God, the support of the school administration, the incredible staff, and his dedicated students. In the coming years, he hopes to become a director of special education for a school district and is looking forward to achieving personal milestones, including marriage and settling down with his fiancée. He is also exploring the possibility of transitioning into a new role as an academic advisor.
