Currently serving as a licensed school counselor and public school teacher at Chicago Public Schools in Chicago, Illinois, Ms. Nady continues to demonstrate her commitment to student development and support. Having been serving in these capacities within the school district since 2023, she has been focusing on enriching the lives of her students through mentorship and education within diverse classroom environments.
Leveraging her extensive classroom experience, Ms. Nady’s background has included significant contributions as a speech pathologist within the Chicago Public Schools. She has also held tutoring roles at Wyzant, Inc., a division of IXL Learning, where she supported learners in various subjects. Earlier, she taught adult education at Kennedy-King College for over a decade. Moreover, Ms. Nady garnered experience as an English as a Second Language instructor and as a General Educational Development test proctor for City Colleges of Chicago. Alongside these roles, she has participated in mentoring groups that foster growth among peers and students alike.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Nady was known for her work as a children’s news executive producer and music show host at Turner & Cox Cable TV Stations. In this capacity, she recruited and trained young participants, guiding them in writing news stories and presenting them on community cable access television.
Ms. Nady’s academic foundation began with a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology and psychology from Elmhurst University in Elmhurst, Illinois, in 1973. She then completed coursework toward a master’s degree in speech pathology at Governors State University in University Park, Illinois, in 1976. In 2024, Ms. Nady earned a Master of Arts in educational administration and supervision from Roosevelt University in Chicago. Her professional journey is distinguished by membership in Phi Delta Kappa and PDK International, organizations that underscore her dedication to educational excellence. Recognition for her expertise in education, supervision and administration, as well as speech pathology, reflects a career built on advanced knowledge and steadfast commitment.
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Ms. Nady has contributed to civic life through volunteer work with The Barack Obama Foundation and by supporting senior citizens through church and community initiatives in California. Ms. Nady’s efforts have been acknowledged with several honors for her contributions, including a Community Service Award and a Certificate of Recognition for Helping Seniors from the California State Senate.
Throughout her life, Ms. Nady has drawn inspiration from her belief in herself and her personal goals. She attributes much of her success to honoring the legacy of her parents, family and ancestors, individuals who were deeply involved in community service and church activities but whose contributions went unrecognized during their lifetimes in the South. Carrying forward their tradition of generosity and civic engagement remains central to Ms. Nady’s identity as an educator and community leader.
Looking ahead, Ms. Nady is focused on finding freedom and making progress across multiple dimensions of her life. She intends to devote time to writing children’s books and completing several volumes already underway while continuing to travel and pursue personal development projects that keep her mind active. Additionally, Ms. Nady is pursuing a doctorate in collaboration with the Harvard University community. The program focuses on educational leadership, with a specialty in visual arts and engineering technology sciences. Her enduring commitment to education supervision, administration, and speech pathology stands as a testament to her expertise and passion for fostering growth within individuals and communities alike.
