Ms. Lang has established herself in the field of education, marked by her expertise in school-wide behavior systems and her commitment to fostering positive learning environments. In 2019, she founded H. Lang Educational Consultant LLC, where she serves as an educational consultant. Through her consulting company, she delivers professional development focused on social-emotional learning, behavioral responses and de-escalation strategies. Ms. Lang is most proud of her ability to provide impactful professional development to staff, equipping them with tools to address behavioral challenges and support student success. Her work as a consultant has also allowed her to influence school-wide systems and promote trauma-informed practices across multiple educational settings.

Beyond he consulting role, Ms. Lang has been at the helm of the McGlone Academy within the Denver Public Schools in Denver, Colorado, as the school’s dean and as a member of the leadership team. In this capacity, she collaborates closely with the principal and assistant principals to set and achieve school leadership goals, values and visions. Her daily responsibilities include shadowing other deans, coaching and modeling effective responses to challenging student behaviors, and providing constructive feedback. Ms. Lang is recognized for her skill in de-escalating disruptive situations and guiding students back to productive classroom engagement through restorative practices.

Leveraging years of prior success, Ms. Lang served as the dean at Roots Elementary in Denver from 2016 to 2019. There, she honed her leadership skills and deepened her understanding of restorative practices in education. Before transitioning into administrative leadership, Ms. Lang taught at Columbine Elementary School in Denver during the 2015-2016 academic year, following four years as a second-grade elementary teacher at Lavaland Elementary School within Albuquerque Public Schools in Albuquerque, New Mexico, between 2010 and 2014. Her early years included a teaching appointment in Cherry Creek School District in Centennial, Colorado, her role as a lacrosse coach from 2010 to 2011, and a teaching appointment at Adams 12 Five Star Schools in Thornton, Colorado, teaching kindergarten during the 2009-2010 academic year.

Ms. Lang’s academic background has played a significant role in shaping her professional journey. She earned an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 2007, which laid the foundation for her understanding of student behavior and motivation. Subsequently, Ms. Lang completed a master’s degree in educational leadership, with honors, from the University of New England in 2014. Additionally, she obtained a certificate in elementary curriculum and instruction from the University of Colorado, Denver, in 2008.

Ms. Lang’s commitment to professional growth is further demonstrated by her election as the leader of the Instructional Council of Albuquerque, reflecting both peer recognition and her influence within the field. As a member of this council, she contributed to shaping instructional policies and supporting fellow educators.

Beyond her professional achievements, Ms. Lang is committed to civic engagement through charitable contributions to organizations such as the National Wildlife Federation and the Ocean Conservancy. Her philanthropic efforts reflect a broader dedication to community well-being and environmental stewardship.

Throughout her career, Ms. Lang has been recognized for her dedication and excellence in education. Among her accolades were being named Teacher of the Month and receiving a $1,000 classroom grant from the assistant superintendent of Albuquerque Public Schools, a distinction awarded after an observation that highlighted her exceptional teaching abilities.

Ms. Lang remains dedicated to advancing educational practices while pursuing personal interests that enrich her life outside of work. Looking ahead, she intends to continue serving as dean while growing her consulting practice to support additional schools with their social-emotional learning initiatives.
