Additionally, his leadership as the lead manager of the Cougar Student Managed Hedge Fund since 2017 exemplifies his dedication to experiential learning, providing students with hands-on opportunities to apply financial theories in a dynamic market environment.
During his tenure at Saint Xavier University, Dr. Hoque became recognized as a founding chair in 2009, a role he upheld until 2017. Dr. Hoque’s academic foundation is rooted in rigorous scholarship. His undergraduate studies culminated with a Bachelor of Science from Dhaka University in Bangladesh in 1979, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy in economics in 1987 and a Master of Science in finance in 1988 from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In addition to his formal education, Dr. Hoque pursued specialized certifications to remain at the forefront of emerging trends. In 2022, he completed a certificate program in AI and its implications for business strategy at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
