Anthony Rondinelli, professor of business at Springfield Technical Community College and president of ARTAS, LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in accounting and education.

Across more than 30 years of professional development, Prof. Rondinelli has taken on a wide range of roles to make ends meet before reaching his current level of success. He comes from humble origins, having lost his father at the age of 8 and being raised by a single mother with very little money. Prof. Rondinelli worked to put himself through school, with his first major job role being as a district sales and marketing manager for Stop & Shop Supermarkets in 1994. From there, he devoted a stretch of his career to financial risk work as a financial/medical risk consultant with Mass Mutual Financial Group, a senior financial/medical risk consultant with Lincoln Financial Group, and a senior financial consultant with GE Financial Assurance.

Beginning in 2004, Prof. Rondinelli transitioned into the traditional accounting side of business. He spent several years as a senior accountant and assistant controller with GE Financial and Genworth Financial, and nearly five years as a public/tax accountant & auditor with Corbin & Tapases, PC. Prof. Rondinelli quickly discovered that he had both great skill in and a passion for accounting. As he moved deeper into the profession, he realized that he also had a knack for explaining complex concepts related to it and understood that this could be a significant boon if he wanted to teach the subject.

Shifting to education in 2010, Prof. Rondinelli became an adjunct professor of economics at American International College and an adjunct professor of accounting at Holyoke Community College. Additionally, he taught several other undergraduate & graduate level courses in personal finance, management, marketing & computer software applications at other local institutions, including Springfield College, Westfield State University, Bay Path University and Wentworth Institute of Technology. In 2014, he accepted a full-time assistant professor of accounting position at his alma mater, Springfield Technical Community College. Since then, Prof. Rondinelli has been promoted to associate professor, and now to full professor, receiving tenure in 2020.

In addition to his teaching and advising of students within the business program, Prof. Rondinelli serves on many board & committees, both at STCC and within the local western Massachusetts business community. He has also published within his field, and is a regular subject matter contributor to several online personal finance platforms, including wallethub.com.

In addition to financial and managerial accounting, Prof. Rondinelli teaches two ‘specialized’ accounting courses at Springfield Technical Community College. The first focuses on personal income tax preparation, and has led to several students being hired for positions as tax preparers for Liberty Tax, H&R Block and Jackson Hewitt immediately upon completion. For his other course, Prof. Rondinelli teaches computerized accounting, familiarizing students with programs such as Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks for use within the accounting profession. He expresses deep care & compassion for the well-being of all of his students, an attitude that was demonstrated when he took on a blind student and learned to use braille in order to ensure the student’s success. Prof. Rondinelli considers that experience to be one of the most memorable and rewarding achievements of his professional life thus far.

In 2015, Prof. Rondinelli also started his own tax and accounting practice, Anthony Rondinelli Tax and Accounting Services, LLC (ARTAS, LLC). His practice specializes primarily in individual tax preparation, as well as accounting for small businesses and not-for-profit corporations. In doing so, he has been able to channel his talents into helping clients better understand their own complex personal & business tax situations, just as he is able to do for his students within the classroom. He enjoys being both a professor and a practitioner simultaneously, as this enables him to serve multiple platforms at the same time.

Throughout the turns that his vocational journey has taken, Prof. Rondinelli has been supported by his own educational background, beginning with an Associate of Science in business administration/finance from Springfield Technical Community College in 1992, where he was recognized in the 14th annual edition of ‘The National Dean’s List’ for academic achievement. He then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in marketing and research, graduating, cum laude, from Westfield State University in 1994, followed by a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in management from Western New England University, where he graduated, summa cum laude, in 2001. Prof. Rondinelli subsequently earned a second MBA in accountancy from Western New England University in 2003. He also holds a certificate in personnel management from Cornell University (1996), and has been a notary public for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since 1999. Additionally, he earned a ‘Six Sigma Green Belt’ quality certification in 2002, a ‘Certified Toastmaster & Leader’ designation in 2004, and a ‘QuickBooks Professional Advisor’ certification in 2011. In 2012, he was admitted to the ‘Sigma Beta Delta’ international honor society in business, management and administration. Following this, and to best serve his students, Prof. Rondinelli earned a certificate of college teaching and learning in Hispanic-serving institutions from ESCALA Educational Services in 2021.

Outside of his career, Prof. Rondinelli is also a dedicated husband and a loving father to two children. When he’s not working, he enjoys playing golf, coaching local youth sports, and helping others attain their personal strength and fitness goals. He holds certificates in both personal training and sports nutrition through the American Sports & Fitness Association (2018). He is also an avid powerlifter, and competes within the master’s division of USA Powerlifting.

Prof. Rondinelli also enjoys volunteering his time to worthy causes such as the Knights of Columbus, the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) and the Order of Sons & Daughters of Italy in America. A devout Christian, he is also very active in his church, volunteering as an usher, lector & eucharistic minister during mass. Looking forward, Prof. Rondinelli intends to continue his academic journey by pursuing a doctorate in accounting, as well as possibly running for political office within his town and becoming a permanent deacon within his church. No matter what the future may hold for him, his desire has always been and will always be to help others, whether academically, physically or spiritually.
