Dr. Lee has established herself as a distinguished academic and educator, currently serving as an associate professor in the department of social sciences at the University of Indianapolis since 2022. Dr. Lee’s expertise extends to teaching sociology courses to both undergraduate and master’s level students, while also engaging with doctoral students in education. In addition to her responsibilities at the University of Indianapolis, Dr. Lee has been a dissertation chair and faculty member at the American College of Education since 2022. Leveraging her previous experience, Dr. Lee was an associate teaching faculty member in sociology at her alma mater, the University of Nevada, Reno, from 2020 to 2022, making significant contributions to the academic community. Her career trajectory also included her tenure as a learning management system manager for the Master of Justice Management program on campus between 2016 and 2020. During this period, she played a crucial role in integrating business and criminal justice elements into the program while maintaining a strong focus on sociology. From 2010 to 2016, Dr. Lee was a faculty member for the program, where she taught research methods and strategic planning courses.
Dr. Lee’s professional journey began with an associate degree in psychology from Mohave Community College in 2005, followed by coursework at Tulane University in 2007. She soon earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and sociology in 2008, a Master of Arts in sociology in 2010, and a Doctor of Philosophy in learning, development and technology in 2016 from the University of Nevada, Reno. Dr. Lee’s certifications include Quality Matters Master Review for Higher Education and various credentials from the Association of College and University Educators.
Among Dr. Lee’s professional affiliations, she has been a member of the American Educational Research Association since 2012. She is also involved with organizations such as the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education, as well as the International Journal of Technology in Teaching and Learning. Beyond her academic involvement, Dr. Lee is deeply committed to civic engagement. She serves as the treasurer for her local church’s Sunday school program and actively tutors children within her community to bridge educational gaps exacerbated by COVID-19. Her philanthropic efforts include donations to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Dr. Lee’s contributions to academia are further highlighted by her roles as a Quality Matters reviewer and facilitator, editor for SAGE Open: Education, and copyeditor for Grounded Theory Review: An International Journal. Eager for the future, she is passionate about developing a comprehensive online program at the University of Indianapolis to provide flexible learning options for students who work or require alternative educational formats.
