With a diverse educational background, including a Doctor of Philosophy in quantitative psychology from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from RA Podar College of Commerce, his career has been characterized by a relentless pursuit of knowledge and innovation.
Currently serving as a sustainability scholar and associate professor at the University of Dayton since 2017, Dr. Ramamoorti’s contributions extend beyond academia to encompass leadership roles in professional organizations and volunteer efforts within his community. Prior to his current position, from 2010 to 2017, he served as associate professor of accountancy and director of the KSU Corporate Governance Center at Kennesaw State University. His commitment to professional excellence is evident in his extensive list of certifications, including being certified in risk management assurance by The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc., a Certified Public Accountant licensed by the Ohio State Board of Accountancy, and a Chartered Accountant as an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ramamoorti has held influential roles in various organizations. Notably, he served as a corporate governance partner at Grant Thornton LLP from 2006 to 2009 and as a thought leader and Sarbanes Oxley advisor at Ernst & Young LLP from 2002 to 2005. His expertise has been recognized by prestigious institutions, earning him awards such as the University of Colorado’s Teaching Leadership Award in 1995 and the Gold Medal for Sanskrit in India. As president-elect of the forensic accounting section of the American Accounting Association, Dr. Ramamoorti continues to pave the way for advancements in accounting scholarship and practice.
Dr. Ramamoorti, now tenured at the University of Dayton, is dedicated to impactful research in areas such as ESG, fraud, and emerging technologies. Balancing his commitment to academia with personal well-being, he plans to prioritize health, travel, and mentorship, aiming to contribute positively to both his profession and society.
