With decades of experience to her credit, Ms. Jorgensen has found much success throughout an esteemed career in athletics and education, marked by her current role as an advancement associate at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School since 2023. In this position, her expertise in athletics is evident through her dedication to fostering leadership and community involvement among her students. Ms. Jorgensen’s vision for the aforementioned high school includes expanding its curriculum to incorporate the arts, transforming it into a Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) institution while simultaneously enhancing its philanthropic efforts. Ms. Jorgensen also aims to strengthen their ties with the University of Akron, particularly in supporting its athletics department.

Prior to her current post, Ms. Jorgensen excelled as the executive director of The Cline Leadership Academy at the University of Akron, beginning in 2019. In this capacity, she developed a leadership program for athletes, which continues to stand as one of her most significant achievements. Through the careful curation and dissemination of generous sponsorships, Ms. Jorgensen invited alumni and distinguished individuals to engage with athletic students, helping them cultivate leadership skills and prepare for future opportunities beyond professional sports.

Ms. Jorgensen’s impressive tenure at the University of Akron began in 1988, when she assumed the role of associate athletics director, which she proudly held until 2021. Her long-standing commitment to the aforementioned university underscores her dedication to athletics and education. Her ability to connect with a wide range of individuals has been instrumental in her success, allowing her to immerse herself fully in every position that she holds.

To support her professional ambitions, Ms. Jorgensen pursued a formal education at Michigan State University, from which she earned a bachelor’s degree in piano pedagogy and a bachelor’s degree in K-12 music education. He ultimately concluded her studies at Morehead State University, where she graduated with a Master of Music. These academic achievements have provided a strong foundation for her versatile career, enabling her to excel in various roles within the educational sector.

In addition to her primary accomplishments, Ms. Jorgensen is actively involved in several industry-related organizations. She serves as a board member of The Garden Club of Kent, a public charity and a nonprofit organization that welcomes gardeners from all walks of life from Kent and surrounding regions who are interested in developing and sharing their mutual interests. Likewise, she is affiliated with Leadership Akron and Gamma Phi Beta, the latter of which is a notable and longstanding sorority comprised of confident women of character who celebrate sisterhood and make a difference in the world. Her civic engagement extends further as a member of the Rotary Club of Akron, Ohio, a board member of The Portage Foundation, and board president of the Halo Foundation. She is also associated with Haven of Rest Ministries in Akron, Ohio.

A native of Traverse City, Michigan, Ms. Jorgensen enjoys watching sports and reading during her leisure time. She also continues to champion her loving daughter, Laura Jorgensen, who serves as one of the athletic directors at the University of Oregon and reflects their family’s commitment to athletics and education.
