Dr. Manjikian is an esteemed educator who has been a faculty member at Hudson County Community College in Jersey City, New Jersey, since 2017. His expertise in probability, statistics, sabermetrics and chemometrics have made him widely recognized.

Teaching in-person, remote, hybrid and fully online courses, Dr. Manjikian focuses not only on lecturing but also on serving as a support system for his students. Among a range of courses, he instructs Introduction to Chemistry, Introduction to Environmental Chemistry, College Chemistry I and II, Organic Chemistry I and II, Physical Geology, and College Student Success. He also occasionally teaches non-chemistry-related courses and serves as the vice chair of the All-College Council and the co-chair of the president’s advisory council on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Before being acquired by Hudson County Community College, Dr. Manjikian taught at several other colleges in New Jersey, dating back to 2012.

Dr. Manjikian earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry, cum laude, and a Master of Science in chemistry, with distinction, from Seton Hall University in New Jersey and is presently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in health sciences on campus. Beyond his formal education, he received certificates in higher education teaching and gene-editing applications from Harvard University. Additionally, Dr. Manjikian earned two certifications in diversity and inclusion through Cornell University, an advanced certificate in effective college instruction from the Association of College and University Educators, a teaching online certificate from Quality Matters, and credentials in worldwide leadership development in higher education from the Chair Academy.

As part of his continued success in the field, Dr. Manjikian has been an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Chemical Society, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and the National Science Teachers Association. He also remains active in several honor societies.

Initiated in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Health, this project was a career highlight, as it tested campus wastewater for COVID-19, influenza, and other communicable diseases. Mr. Manjikian continues to collect wastewater samples, ensuring they are sent to the Department of Health for analysis, which is then shared with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, contributing to national health records.

Dr. Manjikian has been recognized for his hard work, earning the Hudson County Community College DEI Impact Faculty Leadership Award in 2022, the League for Innovation in the Community College Excellence Award for the 2023-2024 academic school year, the National Society of Leadership and Success Impact Leader Award at Hudson County Community College, also for the 2023-2024 academic school year, and the National Society of Leadership and Success Impact Leader Award at Saint Peter’s University in 2024.
