Ms. Endo is a former executive in the human resources industry who has since transitioned into education as an English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) teacher at Olympic Heights Community High School. Since 2009, she has been influential in educating students from various countries on the English language. Joyful to be serving in her position, she draws tremendous satisfaction from working with her students while at the same time learning about their various cultures. Before being hired by the school, Ms. Endo notably volunteered on campus for a year. During this time, she focused on tutoring students in essay writing, helping them learn how to properly construct paragraphs and pass the course.
Before pivoting into education, Ms. Endo spent 25 years as a director of human resources and training in the hospitality industry. During her tenure, she worked at Hilton Inc., a subsidiary of Hilton International, responsible for over 30 restaurants and engaging in management responsibilities and server training. The experience allowed her to make a substantial difference and enhance other’s lives. Ms. Endo also succeeded as an associate director of personnel in the nonprofit sector for the American Lung Association. Leveraging her extensive career background, Ms. Endo earned an undergraduate degree in communications from American University and a master’s degree in human resources training and development from Columbia University.
Beyond her professional career, Ms. Endo became a published author with the release of her first children’s book, “Who Wears That Hat?” Excited about the book’s launch, she hopes to publish more to continue empowering young girls. Beyond her expertise as an author, Ms. Endo notably won a contest for a poem she had penned for her daughter. Attributing much of her success to her passion for helping young people find their way, Ms. Endo recalls one of her most notable achievements while helping one of her students from Haiti realize her capabilities. Eager for the future, she intends to continue impacting her students while becoming more involved in charity work, particularly those that cater to abused women.
