Stacey A. Voigt, EdD, lecturer and field supervisor at Baylor University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academia.
With over three decades of experience to her credit, Dr. Voigt has established a successful career in education, specializing in elementary education and educational administration. Since 2023, she has excelled as a lecturer and field supervisor at Baylor University, where she teaches freshmen “Introduction to Education,” oversees student teachers by observing their progress, coaching them, and connecting with collaborating teachers, attends meetings, and supervises interns in her role as field supervisor. Her experience also includes serving as director of elementary curriculum at Midway Independent School District from 2021 to 2023, school principal at South Bosque Elementary in Midway Independent School District from 2017 to 2021, and school principal at Heritage Elementary School in Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District from 2002 to 2017.
Laying an educational foundation, Dr. Voigt earned a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University, a master’s degree from Texas Tech University, and her Doctor of Education in educational leadership and administration from Southern Methodist University in 2019. She also dedicates her time to various organizations, including the National Council and Zeta Tau Alpha from 2006 to 2012, and has held leadership roles such as president of the South Central Area Network for School-University Partnerships. Additionally, she is a member of the Junior League of Dallas, Rotary International, and the National Association for School-University Partnerships.
Reflecting on her path, Dr. Voigt has dreamed of becoming a teacher her entire life. While in college, she developed an interest in administration, spending many years as both a classroom teacher and a campus principal. During that time, she realized that when she eventually left public education, she wanted to give back to the profession by teaching young people how to become teachers. She takes great pride in the success of those she has mentored. After serving as a principal for 19 years, she had the opportunity to work with various assistant principals, five of whom went on to become principals themselves. For her, nothing compares to the fulfillment of seeing the individuals she coached and encouraged reach the pinnacle of their careers. Additionally, she learned not to be afraid to try new things because, in education, every day can bring new challenges, and every year is different. It is also crucial for her to remember her “why”—the reason she is doing what she does.
In light of her impressive undertakings, Dr. Voigt was inducted into Leadership Waco, Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce in 2023, and received a Certificate of Merit from Zeta Tau Alpha. She credits much of her success to her father, her lifelong hero, who dedicated 25 years to the U.S. Air Force before retiring as a colonel. Their frequent relocations, often every three years, required her to adapt quickly to new environments, a challenge that ultimately shaped her character and resilience. Additionally, she attributes her success to her passion for education. She loves children and has a strong desire to help and mentor others, including teachers and professionals pursuing careers in education. In the coming years, she aims to teach full-time at the university level. Currently working part-time at Baylor University, she is focused on transitioning to full-time employment. She enjoys her role as a field supervisor, particularly in working with student teachers, and hopes to shift her focus to supporting individuals who aspire to become principals or superintendents.
