Suzanne M. Cromlish, PhD, MBA, MHA, LNHA, assistant professor of the Instruction and Health Services Administration at Ohio University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academia.
With over four decades of experience, Dr. Cromlish has established a successful career in health care and education. She currently serves as an assistant professor of health services administration at Ohio University, a role she has held since 2020. In this capacity, she teaches health administration courses and provides support to students to help them succeed. In 2023, she was honored with a teaching and advising award for her department. Her experience includes serving as an assistant professor of management and director of the graduate health care program at Saint Xavier University from 2016 to 2020, adjunct professor at Mitchell Community College from 2011 to 2016, and various leadership positions in health care administration. She was administrator at Wesleyan Arms Retirement Center and Providence Place Continuing Care Retirement Center from 2008 to 2010, and chief executive officer at Brian Center Hickory Viewmont in from 2007 to 2008.
Dr. Cromlish has also held roles as president and business owner of Classy Celebrations from 2002 to 2007 and Phoenix News Express from 1997 to 2002. She also founded and operated Talking Hands from 1983 to 1997 and worked as a sign language interpreter from age 15 until 2015. Laying a strong academic foundation, she earned a Master of Health Administration and Master of Business Administration from Pfeiffer University in 2011 and 2012, respectively, and a PhD in management, focusing on sustainable systems design, from Case Western Reserve University in 2017. Additionally, she is a licensed nursing home administrator.
Dr. Cromlish also contributes as a board member for Bible Study for Anxiety at Gracehaven since 2024 and in recruitment events at Ohio University. She has been an advisory board member for the Ohio Employee Ownership Center at Kent State University since 2017 and previously served on the board of the Academy of Management’s Management Consulting Division from 2017 to 2020. She is also involved with BoardProspects and is a former member of the Private Directors Association. In light of her impressive undertakings, she was honored with nominations for Professor of the Year from 2022 to 2024, received the Outstanding Teaching and Advising Award in 2023, and the Louis O. Kelso Research Fellowship Award in 2018. She credits her success to her passion for seeking challenges and her continuous growth. Looking to the future, she aims to join the boards of two or three companies to broaden her impact across health care, education, and business.
