Marcus LaShawn Mann, Chaplain at Tyson Foods Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Professional for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Religious Services.
Mr. Mann has been dedicated to religious services as a chaplain for Tyson Foods Inc. since 2011. In his role, he engages in one-on-one sessions with employees, providing any necessary services to the team regardless of what they may have been experiencing in their lives. Leveraging over 25 years of similar success, Mr. Mann formerly worked in the same capacity for COPAC Inc. from 2004 to 2011. He also enjoyed a tenured role as a drug and alcohol counselor and chaplain at the Walnut Grove Correctional Facility under the Mississippi Department of Corrections between 1996 and 2004.
Despite being drafted into the NBA by the Golden State Warriors in 1996, Mr. Mann chose to pursue a career dedicated to ministry. As such, he also notably founded Marcus Mann Ministries (M3 Ministries), a nonprofit dedicated to mentoring the youth. Through M3 Ministries, he has successfully initiated a program for young girls, of which his daughter is also affiliated. As a dedicated community member, Mr. Mann has served as a pastor at First Baptist Church in Carthage, Mississippi, and has supported various other causes, including veterans.
Highly educated, Mr. Mann holds an Associate of Arts in liberal arts from East Central Community College since 1994, a Bachelor of Arts in health and physical education from Mississippi Valley State University since 1996 and a Master of Science in sports administration from Hampton University. Among numerous accomplishments, he authored “He Chose Me: From Player to Pulpit” in 2023. He is presently penning his second book, which he hopes to complete by the end of 2024. Mr. Mann also aims to further his mentoring initiatives for young people. He seeks to expand his reach and guide young individuals worldwide. He attributes his success to his strong faith and his family’s unwavering support. Their encouragement and guidance have been instrumental in shaping him into the person he is today.
