With two decades of experience, Dr. Verpil has built a successful career in academic administration, currently excelling as the assistant vice president for enrollment and executive director of admissions at Auburn University since 2024. In this capacity, he oversees undergraduate admissions, encompassing freshmen and transfer admissions, enrollment operations, recruitment travel, campus visit experiences, and recruitment programming and events. Additionally, he is a member of the Enrollment Management Council at Auburn, contributing to the university’s enrollment marketing efforts. His experience also includes director of admissions at Louisiana State University (LSU) from 2023 to 2024, associate director of admissions from 2018 to 2023, assistant dean of recruitment and diversity from 2017 to 2018, assistant director of advising at DePaul University from 2013 to 2017, assistant director of student life at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts from 2011 to 2013, guidance counselor at Auburndale Senior High School from 2010 to 2011, and director of bands at James Madison Middle School from 2005 to 2010. He laid a solid educational foundation, earning a Bachelor of Music in music education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004, a Master of Arts in school counseling and guidance services from the University of South Florida in 2010, and a Doctor of Education in higher education administration from DePaul University in 2022.

Dr. Verpil has dedicated his time to organizations such as ACPA since 2012 and CPI Haiti since 2010 and served as a program assistant for the Hephzibah Children’s Association from 2014 to 2015. He was also active in the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, Southeastern Association of Housing Officers, and FMEA, and served on the Music and Arts Council at Centenary United Methodist Church. Reflecting on his path, he takes great pride in his work at LSU, where he played a pivotal role in raising applications from 17,000 to over 40,000, with enrollment for historically underrepresented groups more than doubling. In light of his impressive undertakings, he received the $5,000 Paul McCartney Save the Music Grant in 2005 and was named Adviser of the Year at DePaul University. He attributes his success to his core values and key mentors and aims to help higher education institutions make a transformative impact. Advising aspiring professionals, he emphasizes recognizing the profound difference one can make, as this profession offers purpose through passion and service.
