Brian J. Hall, MEd, teacher and coach at Lewiston-Porter Central School District, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academia.

With nearly two decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Hall has built a successful career in academia, specializing in middle school and high school education. Since 2018, he has served as a teacher and coach at Lewiston-Porter Central School District, where he runs the Academy of Business and Finance at Lewiston Porter High School. He teaches business and technology while also serving as the head varsity coach for both the girls’ tennis and basketball teams. His experience also includes being a teacher, coach, and dean of students at Niagara Catholic High School from 2009 to 2018 and working with Williams Technology Services from 2000 to 2008. He also dedicates his time to various community roles, including serving on the board of governors at Niagara Falls Country Club from 2013 to 2019, as a board member of the Niagara Community Center since 2014, and as chair of the Porter Cup Golf Tournament in 2017. He has also been involved with the Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club, where he chaired the annual auction and helped establish the first girls’ tennis program at Niagara Catholic High School in 2012. Additionally, he is a three-time recipient of the Coach of the Year Award from the Kiwanis Club of Niagara Falls in 2013, 2014, and 2015.

Laying a solid educational foundation, Mr. Hall earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida in 2000 and a Master of Education from Niagara University in 2009. He is certified in business and marketing and computer technology and is a New York State certified coach. Reflecting on his path, during his time at Williams Technology Services, his boss asked him to coach his daughter’s basketball team. Though hesitant at first, he accepted and discovered a passion for coaching. Over the next two years, he coached girls’ basketball and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. A chance encounter with a former teacher in 2005 led to an invitation to assist with coaching at Niagara Catholic High School. This opportunity sparked his interest in education and motivated him to pursue a master’s degree in education, which he completed successfully. His decision to become a teacher was further solidified when he encountered a student-athlete falling behind in his coursework. After realizing the student lacked access to a computer at home, he arranged for the student to use the school’s computer lab and spent his time helping the student catch up on assignments, which inspired him to pursue a career in teaching.

Mr. Hall takes great pride in his coaching achievements, having been part of the staff for four championship-winning men’s basketball teams before transitioning to girls’ basketball, where he led his team to another championship victory. He also guided his girls’ tennis team to their first-ever championship win for the school. However, his greatest sense of pride comes from the positive impact he’s had on his students’ lives. In the coming years, he is committed to continuing his role at Lewiston-Porter Central School District while also coaching girls’ basketball and tennis. He is passionate about making a lasting, positive impact on the lives of his students and athletes, helping them reach their full potential. His advice to aspiring educators is to never forget why you got into education, stay true to your values, be a relationship builder, and strive to have a positive impact on kids as they make choices for their future.
