Anthony T. Fantasia, PhD, MBA, clinical assistant professor at the University of North Texas, lead data scientist at Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., and owner, chairman, and director at Healing Art & Soul, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in technology and education.

With nearly two decades of experience, Mr. Fantasia has built a successful career in technology, education, and nonprofits, specializing in big data pipelines, advanced data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and PTSD mindfulness-based therapy. Since 2023, he has excelled as a clinical assistant professor of advanced data analytics at the University of North Texas. In addition, he has served as a data scientist, data pipeline engineer, and machine learning and deep learning systems developer at Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. since 2020, as well as the owner, director, and lead designer at Fantasia Custom Designs since 2015, and the owner and director at Vetscraft since 2014. His previous experience includes roles such as lead data scientist and business intelligence developer at Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. from 2018 to 2020, big data engineer at Axiom-Corp from 2017 to 2018, and database administrator and SQL developer at Genesis Business Systems from 2014 to 2015. He also worked as a systems and data analyst at the Air Force Medical Operations Agency from 2012 to 2014 and as senior systems analyst and administrator at Planned Systems International during the same period.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Fantasia was a systems analyst at Planned Systems International from 2011 to 2012, sustainment trainer for the Air Force DMHRSi at Planned Systems International in 2011, EHR trainer from 2009 to 2011, lead trainer for DMHRSi from 2007 to 2009, assistant trainer from 2006 to 2007, and tier III help desk representative in 2006. Prior to his technology career, he served in the United States Army, with deployments in Mosul, Iraq in 2005 and Bagram, Afghanistan in 2002, and spent 12 years as a combat medic in trauma and combat trauma settings. He has served as the owner, chairman, and director of Healing Art & Soul since 2024, has been a member of the Informing Science Institute since 2023, and has worked on mindful art therapy for military veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder since 2014. He has contributed to academic research, having co-authored “The Relationship Between Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Social Media Addiction: A Qualitative Study,” published in Emerging Trends in Drugs, Addictions and Health in 2023, and “The Impact of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder on Addiction to Information over Searching and Information Avoidance,” published in the Journal of Addiction and Recovery in 2023.

Mr. Fantasia holds memberships with several professional organizations, including the International Society for the Study of Emerging Drugs, the Information Professionals Association, and the Golden Key Society at both the University of North Texas and American Military University. He is also a past member of the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium and the Project Management Institute, Inc. 

Reflecting on his path, Dr. Fantasia’s educational foundation includes earning a bachelor’s degree in information technology management from American Military University in 2009, a Master of Business Administration in information technology management from American Military University in 2011, and a PhD in information science, data science, and advanced data analytics from the University of North Texas in 2023. He also holds certifications in advanced data analytics, IRB administration, and social and behavioral research. He takes great pride in his groundbreaking work developing multiple systems for the Department of Defense, including the creation of a robust workforce tracking system for the Defense Health Agency. This system played a crucial role in enabling the agency to efficiently identify and monitor the availability and performance of clinical providers within its clinics.

In the coming years, Dr. Fantasia envisions leading a nonprofit organization that provides free mental health care to community members battling trauma and stress. His goal is to conduct impactful research on the effectiveness of various art modalities in treating different forms of trauma, stress, and mental illness. He is enthusiastic about the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of those in need and is confident in the potential for meaningful, transformative outcomes. Additionally, he hopes to eventually pass the program on to others who can nurture and expand it. Once the program is in capable hands, he aspires to become a student within it, dedicating time to care for himself and his mental health.
