Mary Ann Culbertson, BS, MS, Retired Computer Science Instructor at Tarrant County College, Northwest Campus, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in computer science.
With more than three decades of experience, Ms. Culbertson thrived as a computer science instructor at the Northwest Campus of Tarrant County Community College from 1987 until her retirement in 2018. Alongside that position, she was a teacher at Azle High School from 1974 to 2006. Previously, she was a teacher at Azle Junior High School. Ms. Culbert flourished as an educator because she fell in love with the fact that she could help people and touch their minds and hearts. During her time with the college, she proactively ensured that they offered relevant courses and support for students to transition to a four-year college successfully.
Before entering her profession, Ms. Culbertson earned a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, with a concentration in mathematics and English. She then received a Master of Science in computer science education from the University of North Texas in 1987. As a testament to her success, Ms. Culbertson received the Tandy Scholars Award and two Achievement Awards from Delta Kappa Gamma. She has also been inducted as a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Texas Retired Teachers Association.
