Dr. Eric M. Moody, Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Alabama, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in political science, American government, and international relations.
With a decade of experience, Dr. Moody has thrived as an assistant professor of instruction at the University of Southern Alabama since 2015. Alongside teaching, he has also hosted the “Optimistic Tales” podcast since 2022. Previously, he was an assistant professor for the Department of Military and Strategic Studies in the United States Air Force. He also served as a Lieutenant Colonel from 1993 to 2013, force management advisor, and CJ-1 personnel liaison from 2007 to 2008 for the United States Air Force. Dr. Moody credits his military background to his approach of seeking new and improved ways of teaching his students. He actively seeks the latest technology to provide his students with a high-quality education.
Before entering his professional career, Dr. Moody earned a Bachelor of Science in commercial music cum laude in 1989 and a Master of Business Administration in management and marketing in 1992 from the University of North Alabama. He then received a Doctor of Philosophy in political science, international relations, and American government from the University of Florida in 2008. Looking towards the future, Dr. Moody will continue teaching at the University of South Alabama and producing his podcast. He also looks forward to spending quality time with his wife and friends.
