Kerry Stevenson, MEd, development director, author, football coach, and educator at The Kerry Stevenson, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academia.
With over three decades of experience, Mr. Stevenson has established a distinguished career in sports education and event planning, specializing in athletics, strength and conditioning, public speaking, relationships, and motivating and inspiring young people to be the best version of themselves. Currently, he works as a life coach at Alabaster City Schools, a role he has held since 2021. During his tenure, the school has achieved victory in the state championship twice and was the runner-up once. He also provides mentoring and consulting services to all the system’s leaders, including coaches, teachers, and students from both the middle and high school levels. Additionally, he is actively running a non-profit organization called “One Heart at a Time,” which focuses on addressing the core issues affecting our country today.
Mr. Stevenson was also an intervention specialist and math instructor at Miles College from 2021 to 2023. He also served as vice president of development for athletic programs and scholarships at Miles College in 2021. From 2019 to 2021, he was the director of player development for the University of Tennessee football team, and from 2013 to 2019, he held the same position at the University of Alabama. Earlier in his career, he was head coach, athletic director, and math teacher at C. F. Vigor High School from 2003 to 2013 and an assistant coach at Mariner High School in Fort Myers, FL, from 1993 to 1995.
Mr. Stevenson’s creative works include being a keynote speaker at the Alabama Sports Festival in 2024 and authoring “Inspirations in Life: Inspired by Faith, Family, Friends, and Football,” published by Whitman Publishing, LLC in 2018. He has also created works such as “Love Over Hate,” “What Color?,” “Banner,” and is recognized as an author, poet, and keynote speaker.
Laying a solid foundation for his success, Mr. Stevenson’s earned a Bachelor of Education in mathematics, magna cum laude, from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University in 1993, followed by a Master of Education in mathematics from the same institution. Additionally, he holds a professional certificate in educational leadership and administration from Samford University, obtained between 1997 and 1999. His dedication to education and coaching has earned him several accolades, including being a two-time Teacher of the Year, receiving the Champion of Life Award, the Presidential Scholarship, and the Coach of the Year award.
Reflecting on his career, Mr. Stevenson began his coaching journey at Mariner High School in Fort Myers, Florida, where he served as an assistant coach from 1993 to 1995. During his tenure, he had the privilege of coaching two exceptional athletes who went on to become All-Americans and received recognition in both football and basketball. He treasures the relationships he formed with these outstanding individuals and takes great pride in having the opportunity to impact people’s lives. Notably, as the director of player development under head coach Nick Saban at the University of Alabama, he helped the team win two National Championships and four SEC Championships.
Mr. Stevenson attributes his success to his passion for helping others and his dedication to putting people in a position where they can win. In the coming years, he plans to publish another book and continue fulfilling the mission God has given him. His primary goal is to reduce inner-city violent crimes by promoting love and understanding. He believes that middle school is a crucial period for making a positive impact and shaping young hearts before they enter high school.
