Justina C. Ekezie, RN, MSN, nurse educator at Vinepress Training Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care education.
Following up a career of nearly 10 years as a nurse, Ms. Ekezie founded the Vinepress Training Center in 2009. Since then, she has focused on training the next generation of nurses, with programs ranging from nurse and medication aide to CPR classes. Ms. Ekezie has built up a reputation for deep, thoughtful training focused on proper care for patients, informed by her own experiences both as a nurse and in managerial roles. The Vinepress Training Center has received over 400 positive reviews from past students in its 15 years of existence. Over 5,000 nurses have graduated from Ms. Ekezie’s programs, with many of them going on to obtain leadership roles and nurse of the month and year accolades. She is deeply proud of the quality of teaching she provides, including major improvements made to the program during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ms. Ekezie’s success is backed up by a strong academic foundation. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University, followed by earning a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. Ms. Ekezie has returned to Walden University, where she is currently pursuing a doctorate. She maintains membership in the National Association of Nigerian Nurses in North America, an organization that connects her with others in her field who share a similar background. Ms. Ekezie credits her achievements to her dedication to the goal of helping others. She also pursues that goal by volunteering with churches, students and the elderly.
Beyond her professional life, Ms. Ekezie is a dedicated wife and mother to five children. She spends her free time reading, traveling and exploring new places with her family. Looking to the future, Ms. Ekezie aims to continue making a positive impact in her community and her field. She is dedicated to lifelong learning and to putting her skills and knowledge to use in the service of others. Ms. Ekezie hopes to expand the Vinepress Training Center in the coming years as well, with a goal of offering more avenues of professional training. Additionally, she plans to provide financial education for families to assist with investing, retirement planning and saving money.
