Sana J. Harb, AAS business faculty at Black Hawk College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in higher education.
With nearly 30 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Harb has excelled as an AAS business faculty at Black Hawk College since 2022. She teaches seven classes and has recently signed a contract with a publishing company to publish an introductory textbook on business. She is a motivated, results-driven leader with an aptitude for innovation and creative problem-solving. Her areas of expertise include operational and project management, strategic planning and analysis, training and development, competitive intelligence, business management, quality assurance, organizational leadership, business solutions, and supply chain management.
Ms. Harb began her career as an adjunct faculty member in the business department of Clinton Community College from 1995 to 1996. She served as general business development manager at the Harb Heart Center from 1996 to 2001. At Birzeit University, she contributed as a faculty member in the School of Commerce and Economics from 1998 to 2001. She worked as executive metropolitan director of the American Heart Association, Inc. from 2002 to 2004 before establishing herself as a curriculum development consultant at Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences from 2009 to 2010.
Ms. Harb continued her career as an assistant professor at St. Ambrose University from 2006 to 2015 and at Augustana College from 2010 to 2012. She garnered a stellar reputation as a senior manager of global quality training and curriculum development at Collins Aerospace from 2013 to 2018. She was active as a supply chain manager at HNI Corp. from 2019 to 2020 before being recruited as the on-site lean manager at Uber Freight from 2021 to 2022.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Harb pursued an education at Mount St. Clare College, now the University of Arizona Global Campus, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1990. She concluded her studies at St. Ambrose University, graduating with a Master of Business Administration in 1995 and a Doctor of Business Administration in 2011. Beyond her responsibilities within the field, she has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She contributed to the American Heart Association, Inc., the Figge Art Museum, and preview dinners and scholarship organizations. She held the role of committee member of the PBF, was featured in Millennium Magazine, and supports local museums, symphonies, and ballets.
In addition to her primary vocation, Ms. Harb remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the Higher Teaching Commission and a union member of the State of Illinois for Teachers. In light of her impressive undertakings, she has accrued several accolades throughout her career. She was selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who of Professional Women.
Ms. Harb attributes her success to the unwavering determination she inherited from her father, who was a high school teacher for 40 years. Despite having four children, she completed her Master of Business Administration degree while raising two children and finished her doctorate while raising four. In the immediate future, she intends to finish writing a novel, publish a textbook, and write another book on business and law whilst pursuing a career goal of becoming a fully established professor.
