Tiara Cachet Cooper, high school counselor at Mobile County Public Schools and adjunct online English professor at Bishop State Community College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in social services, and child and adult education.
With 19 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Cooper has excelled at Bishop State Community College as an adjunct online English professor since 2023 and at Mobile County Public Schools as a dual enrollment English teacher from 2011 to 2023 and a school counselor since 2022. She began her career as a sales associate at Hibbett Sporting Goods from 2005 to 2010.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Cooper pursued an education and earned a Bachelor of Science in English and language arts teacher education. She continued her academic efforts at the University of West Alabama, obtaining a master’s degree in guidance and counseling in 2014 and a Master of Arts in teaching English and language arts in 2019. At the University of South Alabama, she completed a postgraduate degree in English language and literature and letters in 2021. Currently, she is pursuing a master’s degree in school counseling certification at the University of West Alabama.
Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Cooper has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She contributed as a teacher at the Training for Life Center and volunteered as a basketball coach for the YMCA of the USA and the Seven U Basketball Team. Moreover, she volunteered on several campus cleanups and served as a tutor.
In addition to her primary vocation, Ms. Cooper remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, the Alabama Counseling Association, the American Football Coaches Association, and the Educator Advisory Council at Alabama Possible. In light of her impressive undertakings, she has accrued several accolades throughout her career. She was presented with the Teacher of the Year Award in 2019. In the immediate future, she intends to complete the book she’s currently writing and earn her doctorate.
