Susan A. Rotenberg, PhD, a faculty member at Queens College of The City University of New York, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for her dedication, professional achievement, and leadership in education.
With over thirty years of experience as a Professor of Biochemistry at Queens College, Dr. Rotenberg has demonstrated excellence in laboratory research and classroom teaching. In addition, she has served in notable administrative roles, including Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry from 2015 to 2017, and Interim Dean of the Division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences from 2017 to 2019.
Dr. Rotenberg’s academic journey began at Connecticut College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology in 1975. She continued her studies at Hahnemann Medical College, attaining a Master’s of Science degree in Biological Chemistry in 1980, before completing her PhD in Chemistry at Brown University in 1985. After earning her PhD, her career commenced with postdoctoral fellowships at The Rockefeller University and the Institute of Cancer Research at Columbia University.
Dr. Rotenberg’s contributions to the field of cancer research have earned her many grant awards and two US patents. She has received grants from the National Institutes of Health, the Gustavus and Louise Pfeiffer Research Foundation, and the Elsa U. Pardee Cancer Research Foundation. Her research has resulted in over 50 published articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals. She has held memberships in esteemed professional organizations such as the American Association for Cancer Research, the American Society for Cell Biology, and the American Chemical Society.
