Thuam Cin Khai, EdD, PhD, President and Chief Executive Officer at Judson Education Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in educational leadership and curriculum design.
With more than 25 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Khai has excelled as the president and chief executive officer for the Judson Education Center, formerly known as Burmese Bible School, since 2013. Prior to this position, he was active as the vice principal and dean of studies at All Nations Theological Seminary from 2006 to 2008 and an assistant pastor at Lyncourt Wesleyan Church from 2009 to 2013. He began his career as a missionary and church planter with Chin (Zomi) Baptist Convention between 1997 and 1999. During this time, Dr. Khai proudly served his country as a chaplain candidate for the U.S. Army Reserve from 2011 to 2016, a battalion chaplain with the U.S. Army Reserve from 2016 to 2023, and a BDE chaplain for 58th Troops Command with the Maryland Army National Guard since 2023.
Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Khai pursued an education at Faith Baptist Bible College and Seminary, from which he earned a Bachelor of Arts in biblical studies in 1997. He continued his academic efforts with a Master of Arts in theology at ACTS University in 2001, a Master of Divinity at Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary in 2003, a Doctor of Education in educational administration and supervision at Central Philippine University in 2007, and a Bachelor of Science in health and human services at Empire State University in 2014. Recently obtaining a Master of Science in non-profit and association management at the University of Maryland Global Campus in 2023, Dr. Khai concluded his studies at Omega Graduate School in 2024, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in social research with a focus on the integration of religion and society.
Beyond his primary responsibilities within the field, Dr. Khai has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his immediate circles. An adjunct professor at the College of Biblical Studies in Houston since 2023 and a ministry manager for Outreach To Asian Nationals in Myanmar since 2023, he currently contributes to the District of Columbia Baptist Convention as a board member since 2021, an ordination council member since 2022, and the vice president since 2023. Furthermore, he has also been involved with The Association of Practical Theology, Development Associates International, The Society of Church Consultants, The American Association of Christian Counselors, The Community Development Institute (CDI), The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), The American Academy of Religion and The Wesleyan Church, among other organizations. Dr. Khai has found success with his written works as well, including “Spiritual Intelligence (SQ) Among Administrators” for LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing in 2012 and “Spiritual Intelligence (SQ) Among Administrators of Selected Christian Colleges in Yangon, Myanmar and Baptist Colleges in the Island of Panay, Philippines” for University Microfilms in 2007.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Dr. Khai has accrued several accolades throughout his career. In 2001, he was recognized among the Third World Church Leaders by the Asian Center for Theological Studies and Mission. Dr. Khai was also presented with a Leadership Development Grant from the American Baptist International Ministries in 2003, a Scholarship from Prospect Burma in 2005, a Park Cities Scholarship from Baylor University’s Seminary in 2017, and a DCBC Foundation/ABHMS Doctoral Scholarship from the Omega Graduate School at the American Centre for Religion and Society Studies in 2019.
