John E. Jobson, PhD, Associate Dean of Students at Hope College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academic administration.

With more than 25 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Jobson has excelled as the associate dean of students at Hope College since 2005. Prior to this position, he was active at Michigan State University as a judicial affairs graduate assistant in the department of student life from 1999 to 2002 and the assistant director for the department of student life from 2002 to 2005. He began his career as a judicial affairs program assistant at Iowa State University from 1998 to 1999. To support his professional ambitions, Dr. Jobson pursued an education at Hope College, from which he earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science. He continued his academic efforts with a Master of Science in education at Indiana University Bloomington. He concluded his studies at Michigan State University in 2004, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in higher, adult and lifelong education. Attributing his success to his passion for his work as well as the inspiration and guidance he received from his mentors and coaches, he was greatly inspired by his father, a high school principal, to become an administrator with whom students can form a relationship. In the coming years, Dr. Jobson hopes to shift his attention to becoming an academic advisor while helping people in both the classroom and his community.
