Stephen W. Lin, part-time lecturer at University of Louisville, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in higher education.

With 11 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Lin has excelled as a part-time lecturer at the University of Louisville since 2022. He began his career at Jefferson County Public Schools as a mathematics teacher from 2008 to 2014 and as a research and evaluation specialist from 2016 to 2021. He worked as an independent evaluation and statistical consultant from 2013 to 2019. Concurrently, he served as policy director at Kentucky Youth Advocates from 2014 to 2016. 

Dr. Lin continued his career as co-founder and partner at Sagebird Consulting since 2019. He was active as an adjunct professor at Bellarmine University in 2021. He contributed at UnboundEd.org as director of equity-centered research from 2021 to 2022 and deputy chief of impact research and evaluation since 2022.

Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Lin pursued an education at Georgetown College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in religious studies and mathematics. He continued his academic efforts at the University of the Cumberlands, obtaining a Master of Arts in teaching mathematics. He concluded his studies at Bellarmine University, graduating with a PhD in education and social change. He holds a certification in education research methodology and is an Ignite Louisville Graduate from the Leadership Louisville Center.

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Dr. Lin has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He held the role of board member of the Backside Learning Center, chair and vice-chair of the emerging leader board at Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. In addition to his primary vocation, he remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the American Evaluation Association.

Dr. Lin attributes his success to the support he received from his parents and his wife, who motivated him to pursue his dreams. He considers the creation of several professional teams to be his most notable career accomplishment and takes immense pride in developing and nurturing the individuals on those teams. In the immediate future, he intends to expand his company’s impact beyond Kentucky over the next five to 10 years. He hopes to grow the company into a regional level offering with a primary focus on metropolitan centers.
