He earned his Master of Arts in teaching and learning with technology from Ashford University in 2012, followed by a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2008. His foundation in education began with a bachelor’s degree in general education, with an emphasis in sociology, from California State University in 1995.

Mr. Darby’s professional path has been deeply intertwined with his passion for education and advocacy. He served as an adult education instructor with the Educational Options Independence Network, part of the Santa Clara Unified School District Adult Education Independence Network, from 1988 until his retirement. Additionally, he volunteered at the Agnews Developmental Center in Santa Clara, CA, from 1980 to 1985. He attributes much of his success to his faith and deep-seated desire to serve others. His dedication to advocacy and education is driven by a profound sense of purpose, which he considers sacred.

Throughout his career, Mr. Darby has found immense satisfaction in positively impacting the lives of individuals with disabilities. He invested extensive time and effort to ensure their access to resources and create a more inclusive society. Looking ahead, he envisions completing his writing projects, particularly a book on his experiences with individuals with disabilities and his faith.

His journey has taught him the importance of empathy, perseverance, and the transformative power of education, and encourages aspiring professionals to approach their work with these qualities and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
