William Jones, retired nephrology physician assistant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care.
With over three decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Jones has excelled as a nephrology physician assistant, serving at SCL Health, St. Mary’s Hospital since 2021, and fulfilling roles as an instructor, author, and contractor for seven years. Prior to this position, he was active in various specialties, including emergency medicine, orthopedics, primary care, and urgent care. Previously, he served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1992, gaining extensive experience in highly specialized areas.
Mr. Jones began his career as a hospital corpsman in the Navy, where he underwent specialized training in operating room procedures and participated in rescue operations during the Vietnam War. Following military service, he worked as a transplantation and dialysis technician before completing his education. He pursued a Bachelor of Science from the School of Medicine and Health Sciences at George Washington University, graduating in 1985, and later obtained a Master of Arts in health services administration from Webster University in 1988.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Jones has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He has contributed to the education sector as a lecturer and instructor, teaching at Colorado Mesa University and delivering lectures at the Veterans Caucus of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Additionally, he has authored articles and delivered lectures on various medical topics. In addition to his primary vocation, he remains affiliated with various organizations related to his areas of expertise. He is a member of the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, a founding vice president of the American Academy of Nephrology PAs, and a life member of the Veteran’s Caucus, American Academy of Physician Associates.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Jones has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was recognized as a distinguished fellow of the American Academy of Physician Associates and has received various awards for his contributions to the field.
