With over four decades of experience and a robust educational background, Dr. Harvey has dedicated his career to the fields of education, communication, and international relations. Embarking on his academic journey, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications with a minor in Spanish, also from Brigham Young University in 1973. Following that, he earned a Master of Arts in communication and media studies from Brigham Young University in 1980 before culminating his journey with a PhD in education from George Wythe University in 2007.
Dr. Harvey began his career as a university instructor before transitioning to his first job in the United States. From 1986 to 2005, he served as a wire editor and columnist for the Tri-City Herald. In 2001, he embarked on a new phase of his career as a contracted communications consultant for the Migrant Education Program with the Office of Superintendent Public Instruction, where he worked until 2008. Concurrently, he pursued his passion for education as an associate professor at KIMEP University from 2008 to 2017. His dedication to education and international relations led him to accept roles at Xiamen University Malaysia, where he served as an associate professor and researcher from 2017 to 2021. During this time, he also served as an adviser at AdvisoryCloud and co-founded The Linghetti Project.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Harvey has made significant contributions to media and journalism. Since 1975, he has been the president and executive director of Citizen News & Comments, where he has played a pivotal role in shaping public discourse and disseminating information to the masses. Dr. Harvey attributes his success to his passion for his work and his experiences in Central America, which developed his maturity and passion for helping others. Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to enhancing education through innovative methods, such as multimedia textbooks and educational websites. Looking ahead, he plans to continue making a difference by working with nonprofit organizations and exploring the possibility of starting an online university based on his expertise.
