Diane T. McGeehan, EdD, professor at Strayer University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academia.
Embarking on her educational journey, Dr. McGeehan earned a Bachelor of Science in education, German, and English at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1972. She further solidified her foundation in English language and literature with a Master of Arts from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania in 1976. Continuing her academic pursuits, she obtained a Master of Business Administration from Strayer University in 2005 and, in 2014, achieved a doctorate in educational leadership from Rowan University.
Dr. McGeehan’s distinguished career in academia began in 1982, serving as an adjunct professor at various colleges and universities until 2022. From 1995 to 1999, she taught German and English at Park View High School. Subsequently, she played an integral role in Chesterbrook Academy Nobel Learning Communities from 1999 to 2003, serving as both a middle school and primary school teacher and coordinator. Since 1993, she has been a professor at Strayer University, dedicating time to the skills assessment center and, from 2008 to 2013, holding the position of associate campus dean.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Dr. McGeehan actively contributes to education philanthropy. She makes yearly donations to scholarship programs at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Rowan University, supporting the development of future leaders and educators. Recognized for her contributions, Dr. McGeehan has received three awards throughout her career.
Shaped by her upbringing as the daughter of an army father, she understands the value of discipline and service, influencing her approach to both professional and personal endeavors. As a mother of two children, she balances family life with her ongoing aspirations within academia. Looking ahead, Dr. McGeehan plans to continue teaching while gradually transitioning towards more leadership roles within the educational sphere.
