With 24 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Horvath has excelled as a teacher at the Monterey County Office of Education Teachers’ Association since 2003. In his current role, he teaches 12 to 20 students in a single classroom daily. Most of his students are youths on probation who were expelled from their schools or were in some form of trouble. He worked with the San Jose Juvenile Hall for two years.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Horvath pursued an education at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1996. He holds a multiple-subject teaching credential, and CLAD certification, and is highly qualified to teach single subjects in English, math, and science. Beyond his responsibilities within the field, he has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He contributed to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, raised money for an endurance event, and biked for various causes.

In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Horvath remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the California Teachers Association. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was featured in California Educator Magazine in 2023. Working in a small class setting, he engages students in direct instruction and modified independent studies.

In the immediate future, Mr. Horvath envisions himself continuing to advance in his current role, expanding its scope and introducing an array of compelling and diverse educational opportunities for his students. Alternatively, he may consider returning to Bob Hoover Academy to pursue new challenges and opportunities. He intends to continue teaching and being a role model for other teachers.
