Jennifer Luree Hicks, Instructional Technologist at University of North Carolina at Charlotte, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in computer science.
With nearly 15 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Hicks has excelled at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as an adjunct faculty member in the College of Computing and Informatics since 2012 and an instructional technologist since 2017. In addition to these position, she was active at the aforementioned university as a client engagement coordinator from 2011 to 2013, an interim information technology training manager from 2013 to 2015, and an information technology training and documentation coordinator from 2013 to 2017. From 2010 to 2011, she served as a business systems analyst for the Barnhardt Manufacturing Company. Ms. Hicks began her career as an information technology contractor with Living Well Health Solutions in 2010.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Hicks pursued an education at Central Piedmont Community College, completing undergraduate coursework in 2009. She continued her academic efforts at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, from which she earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science, a Master of Science in computer science, and graduate certificates in health information technology and advanced database knowledge discovery. Attributing her success to the support of her incredible managers, which boosted her strength and capability in her field, as well as her love for education, she was notably presented with the Golden Nugget Award from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2015 and 2018. Looking toward the future, Ms. Hicks hopes to continue teaching future generations while emphasizing the importance of technology to society.
