Ms. Schluter began her career at Harford County Public Schools as a fourth-grade teacher from 2006 to 2014 and as a teacher and mentor from 2014 to 2018. She established herself as a staff development teacher at Baltimore County Public Schools from 2018 to 2022. Before embarking on her professional path, she pursued an education at Towson University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and teaching followed by a master’s degree in leadership in 2006. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in STEM education.

Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Schluter has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She served as a soccer coach for the Baltimore Union. In light of her impressive undertakings, she has accrued several accolades throughout her career. She received a nomination for Teacher of the Year and was endorsed by the Dundalk Chamber of Commerce. In the immediate future, she plans to remain at Logan Elementary School while empowering teachers by providing integrated STEM curriculum materials, eliminating the need to start from scratch. She intends to incorporate STEM into content units like reading and math to guarantee a seamless and comprehensive approach to STEM education within the existing curriculum.
