Urania Ernest Glassman, doctor of social welfare and licensed clinical social worker at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work of Yeshiva University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in clinical social work.

With 51 years of experience to her credit, Dr. Glassman has excelled as interim dean at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work of Yeshiva University from 2021 to 2023. She initiated her involvement with the same as clinical professor since 2018, and director of field instruction from 2020 to 2021. She began her career as assistant director of the Group Work Program at the House Plan Association of The City College of New York. She established herself as principal investigator for the United States Health and Human Services from 2014 to 2021. 

Before embarking on her professional path, Dr. Glassman pursued an education at Teachers College, Columbia University where she earned a master’s degree in college student counseling and personnel services. She continued her academic efforts at Adelphi University, graduating with a Master of Social Work in 1979 and a Doctor of Social Work in 2000. In addition to her primary vocation, she remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the Council on Social Work Education, the International Association for Social Work with Groups, the National Association of Social Workers, and a founding member of the North American Network of Field Educators and Directors. 

Dr. Glassman was associated with a number of committees and organizations including the Commission on Educational Policy, the National Association of Social Workers, the Council on Social Work Education, the Association for the Advancement of Social Work with Groups, the North American Network of Field Educators and Directors, the New York Area Directors of Field Instruction, and the International Association for Social Work with Groups Board. She sat on a number of committees at Adelphi University, including the Foundation Practice Committee, the Group Work Sequence Committee, and the Accreditation Committee.
