Angela Renee Lyte Crowther, EdD, independent education professional, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in curriculum development.

With over 20 years of experience to her credit, Dr. Crowther has excelled as an independent education professional since 2023. She began her career as a merchandise buyer for JC Penny before working with law enforcement in her area. She worked as a teacher for San Jose Unified School from 2000 to 2017. She garnered a stellar reputation as principal at Santa Clara County Office of Education for two years before being recruited as manager of special education programs at the same from 2017 to 2020. She contributed at North Beach School District as director of special education from 2020 to 2021, assistant superintendent from 2021 to 2022, acting superintendent in 2022, education professional from 2020 to 2023, and interim superintendent from 2022 to 2023.

Before embarking on her professional path, Dr. Crowther pursued an education at Santa Clara University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in political science and government in 1981. At National University, she obtained a Master of Education in special education and teaching in 2007 and an education administration credential in general educational leadership and administration in 2011. She completed her academic efforts at San Jose State University, graduating with a Doctorate in Education in educational leadership and administration and general social justice in 2020. 

In addition to her primary vocation, Dr. Crowther remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the Exceptional Children’s National Organization. She attributes her success to her self-efficacy, figuring out the best way to do something, using best practices, setting goals, and ensuring completion. Her most notable achievement is ensuring that students with disabilities or adverse learning issues are fully included and receive the equitable education they deserve.
