Bhaskar C.S. Chittoori, PhD, PE, professor and chair at Boise State University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in geodetical engineering.
With nearly 20 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Chittoori has excelled at Boise State University as an assistant professor from 2013 to 2018, associate chair from 2019 to 2022, associate professor from 2018 to 2023, chair since 2022, and professor since 2023. He began his career as a field engineer at Sai Sudha Constructions from 2004 to 2005. He immigrated to the United States in 2005 before establishing himself as engineer-II at Parsons and Brinckerhoff, now WSP, from 2009 to 2010. He served as faculty associate-research at the University of Texas at Arlington from 2010 to 2013.
Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Chittoori pursued an education at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University of Hyderabad where he earned a Bachelor of Technology in civil engineering in 2002. He continued his academic efforts at the National Institute of Technology of Karnataka, graduating with a Master of Technology in civil engineering in 2004. He concluded his studies at the University of Texas at Arlington and obtained a PhD in geotechnical engineering in 2008. He holds certifications as a professional engineer in the State of Texas and the State of Idaho.
In addition to his primary vocation, Dr. Chittoori remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He held the role of chair at the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Geotechnical Engineering Committee. He was chair of sustainability at the Geo-Institute, handling associate editor at the Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, and member of the Transportation Research Record, the Honor Society for Civil Engineering Chi Epsilon and Chi Beta Phi.
