Dr. Dana Reisboard, PhD, Associate Professor at Widener University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in literacy and instruction.
With nearly 10 years of experience to her credit, Dr. Reisboard has excelled as assistant professor and associate professor at Widener University since 2009. Before embarking on her professional path, she pursued an education at George Washington University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1993. She continued her studies at New York University, obtaining a master’s degree in applied psychology, reading teacher education, and special education in 1995. She completed her academic efforts at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, graduating with a PhD in education in 2008.
In addition to her primary vocation, Dr. Reisboard remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Educator Diversity Consortium, the International Literacy Association, the American Education Research Association, the National Association of Multicultural Education, the Professional Reading Teacher Educators, and the Character Education Partnership. She was a board member of the Association of Teacher Educators and works with the Boys and Girls Club and CityTeam.
In light of her impressive undertakings, Dr. Reisboard has accrued several accolades throughout her career. In the immediate future, she intends to do more advocacy work. Her aim is to continue to develop and implement policy to ensure that teachers are able to teach true and accurate history as well as literature that represents all groups. Using this platform, she seeks to correct misconceptions about legislation that is harmful to children and various groups around the country.
