Nermine Aladdin Mahmoud, a computer science instructor at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of computer science education.
Drawing on more than 20 years of experience in her chosen field, Dr. Mahmoud has found success in her role as an educator. Best noted for her expertise in the areas of computer science, software Development, web development, software security, and artificial intelligence, she has assisted and supported students at SAIT since 2022. She previously garnered experience at CDI College from 2019 until 2021, during which time she was responsible for teaching and designing an effective curriculum for web and mobile app development. Prior to her work at CDI, Dr. Mahmoud served at various academic institutions throughout the world, including Zayed University, Bolton University, and George Mason University. Throughout the course of her career, she has been most proud to devise innovative ways of teaching her Introduction to Programming Course, which has always been particularly difficult for students.
Dr. Mahmoud studied computer science at Helwan University Cairo, from which she earned a bachelor’s degree in 2000, a Master of Science in 2003, and a Doctor of Philosophy in 2011. She has also been designated as a Microsoft Certified Professional by IBM, and was further certified in teaching techniques by LinkedIn and networking essentials by Cisco Systems in 2022. In accounting for her overall success, she largely credits her dedication to hard work, and for her enthusiasm for continuing education. Looking toward the future, Dr. Mahmoud aspires to teach more extensively on the subject of artificial intelligence – a field in which she hopes to make important contributions in the coming years.
