Linda Vogt Turner, DHA, MA, BGS, a professor of practice at Intercontinental Open University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of education.
Hailing from past experience as a lay theologian and expert in written communication, Dr. Vogt Turner has distinguished herself as a professor of practice in creative writing at Intercontinental Open University, a nonprofit corporation that operates as a post-secondary vocational institution with a connection to Duke University. An active member and co-organizer of the Institute of Theology and Ecology at the Orthodox Academy of Crete, she has previously participated in spirited religious discussions at the 6th and 7th Assemblies of the World Council of Churches, and as a member of the United Church of Canada. Likewise dedicated to nonprofit organizing, Dr. Vogt Turner has also advocated for a wide variety of communities, including those afflicted by impoverishment or natural disasters.
Outside of her work in education and the nonprofit sector, Dr. Vogt Turner is the author of “The Ecumenical Affair,” a passionate love story centering on the Eastern Orthodox Church. Additional works to her credit include such articles as “The Woman with the Alabaster Jar: The Forgiven Sinner,” and several editions of “Ecological Theology and Environmental Ethics.” Dr. Vogt Turner initially studied at Simon Fraser University, from which she earned a Master of Arts – the completion of her thesis, “Mary Magdalene: Her Image and Relationship to Jesus,” remains a particular highlight of her career journey. Following this accomplishment, she received a Doctor of Humane Arts from Intercontinental Open University. Looking to the years ahead, Dr. Vogt Turner aspires to strive alongside her colleagues toward a future marked by a worldwide renewal in faith.
