David A. Wilkinson, adjunct professor of cybersecurity and risk management at Woods College of Advancing Studies of Boston College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in cybersecurity.
With 30 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Wilkinson has excelled as adjunct professor of cybersecurity and risk management at Woods College of Advancing Studies of Boston College since 2018. He immigrated to the United States in 1977 and began his career as a social worker in Harlem. He served as a case leader at the Boston Consulting Group and as a production manager at Unilever Ltd.
Mr. Wilkinson found success as a senior executive at City Investing Company before being appointed to the position of senior director of security and risk management at Gartner, Inc. from 2015 to 2017. Concurrent to his other postings, he garnered a stellar reputation as a senior managing partner and founding principal at the Bellwether Group, Inc. since 1993.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Wilkinson pursued an education at the University of East Anglia where he earned a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences in 1973. He continued his academic efforts at the London Business School, graduating with a Master of Science in business administration in 1977. He obtained an international management program certification from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago in 1977.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Wilkinson has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He sat on the advisory board of Boston College’s Master of Science Cybersecurity Policy and Governance as well as the Boston Leadership Institute’s Cybersecurity STEM Program. In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Wilkinson remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the Camp Fire Club and a fellow member of the Explorers Club.
