Morey William Haymond, MD, Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in pediatrics and endocrinology.

With a career encompassing over five decades, Dr. Haymond has established himself as a dedicated educator of pediatric nutrition specializing in childhood diabetes. He began his career in 1971 as a fellow at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, where he served until 1973. He subsequently worked as a consultant for the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota between 1978 and 1990. In conjunction with his work with the Mayo Clinic, he contributed to the faculty of the Mayo Medical School as a professor between 1984 and 1996. From 1990 to 1996, Dr. Haymond served as a professor at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville, the director of Nemours Children’s Health, and the section chief of pediatric endocrinology and metabolism at the Baylor College of Medicine. He presently holds the positions of professor and vice chairman of research, program director of the Child Health Research Center and Clinical Scientist Training Program at the Baylor College of Medicine, director of the Diabetes Care Center at the Texas Children’s Hospital, and an adjunct faculty member at the University of Utah.

Dr. Haymond has had a lifelong dedication to children, which led him to study medicine. In 1969, he attended Washington University in St. Louis, where he earned his medical doctorate. He followed this accomplishment with his internship in pediatrics and endocrinology at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, part of Washington University in St. Louis, between 1969 and 1970. He completed his residency at the same facility in 1971.

Dr. Haymond has been featured in six editions of Marquis Who’s Who in America between 2009 and 2015. In addition, he was recognized in the seventh and eigth editions of Marquis Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
