With 20 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Richards has excelled as the owner of Eric Richards Instructional Consulting, LLC since 2021. In addition to this position, he has been active with North High School, part of the Fort Zumwalt School District R-II, as a department chair since 2011 and a German teacher since 2004. Mr. Richards previously began his career as a technical service representative for CenturyLink, formerly known as Savvis Inc., from 2003 to 2004.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Richards pursued an education at Saint Louis University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Arts in German and international studies, magna cum laude, in 2000. He additionally completed an internship in the sales and purchasing department for the Marquardt Group in Rietheim, Germany in that same year. Mr. Richards concluded his studies at Bowling Green State University in 2003, graduating with a Master of Arts in Germanic languages, literature and linguistics.

Beyond his primary responsibilities, Mr. Richards has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his immediate circles. Since 2009, he has worked as a program instructor for the advanced credit program at the University of Missouri and the 1818 program at Saint Louis University. Furthermore, he has found success with his written works as well, having penned various articles and book chapters as a freelance author and editor since 2017. Mr. Richards has likewise served in a volunteer capacity as a coach for the St. Peters Athletic Association from 2015 to 2020, a coach for the CYC Sports League from 2015 to 2020 and a contributor with the St. Charles Borromeo Heritage Mass Society since 2018.

As a testament to his impressive undertakings, Mr. Richards has accrued several accolades throughout his career. Attributing his success to the support he received from others, he has been presented with a Distinguished Foreign Language Educator Award from the Foreign Language Association of Missouri in 2019, a Teacher Appreciation Award from the Missouri Scholars Academy in 2006 and 2009, and a Golden Apple Award from St. Peters Chamber of Commerce in 2007. He was also recognized as a finalist for the ACTFL World Language Teacher of the Year in 2021, the CSCTFL World Language Teacher of the Year in 2020, the Best of Missouri Presentation by the Foreign Language Association of Missouri in 2019, the Most Influential Teacher by North High School in 2017 and 2019, the Most Inspirational Teacher from Western Illinois University in 2009 and the Educator of the Year at North High School in 2008. Looking toward the future, Mr. Richards aims to grow professionally while sharing his wealth of knowledge to other teachers throughout his consulting work.
