Dr. Michée Arnold Lachaud, assistant professor at Florida A&M University., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in resource economics.

To support his professional ambitions, Dr. Lachaud earned a Bachelor of Design in quantitative economics and statistics from the Center for Planning Techniques and Applied Economics in 2003, a Master of Science in environmental and resource economics from Universidad de Los Andes and the University of Maryland in 2006, and a Doctor of Philosophy in agriculture and resource economics from the University of Connecticut in 2014. Since 2017, he has excelled as an assistant professor with Florida A&M University His research focuses on the economic effects of climate change on agricultural production and productivity in Latin America and the Caribbean region. Dr. Lachaud is also a member of various professional organizations, including the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA).

Dr. Lachaud has held positions at various institutions, including as an assistant research professor at the University of Connecticut and as a professor at Quisqueya University in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He has also worked as a consultant for international organizations such as the International Labor Organization (ILO), the World Bank, and the Inter-American Development Bank. Dr. Lachaud has likewise published several papers, including “Economic Effects of Climate Change on Agricultural Production and Productivity in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC)” and “Agricultural productivity in Latin America and the Caribbean in the presence of Unobserved Heterogeneity and Climatic Effects.” He takes much pride in being one of the ten individuals selected for the National Center for Atmospheric Research’s Early Career Faculty Innovator Program. In the future, Dr. Lachaud aims to become a leading global expert in his field and hopes to be inducted as a fellow into the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association as a result of his impactful academic contributions.
