Ms. Rice leverages more than three decades of experience as a proven educator. With a keen focus on elementary education, especially pertaining to the arts, she has served as the educational director and lead teacher at the Maple Wood Learning Enrichment Program, based in Sequim, Washington. The academic organization originally began in 2017 as the Windward School, where Ms. Rice operated as the lead elementary enrichment educator for the school’s Northwest Discovery Lab. Adjacent to her primary endeavors as a teacher, she also worked as a freelance writer from 2015 to 2019. Since beginning her career in 1992, Ms. Rice has worked as a kindergarten and elementary school teacher for numerous schools throughout the state of Washington.
As part of her own academic pursuits, Ms. Rice originally earned a Bachelor of Arts in speech pathology and audiology at the University of Denver in 1980. After earning a teaching credential in education at Sonoma State University in 1983, she began her career in earnest. In conclusion of her studies, she attended Lesley University and achieved a Master of Education in 2010. Ever committed to her professional endeavors, Ms. Rice also remains affiliated with the National Art Education Association. Likewise, she presented “Facilitating a Choice Studio Environment” at the Washington Art Education Association Conference in 2012. In light of her accomplishments in the field, Ms. Rice has received positive feedback from her students and their families throughout her time in the field.
