Tracy Michelle Netter, Outstanding Visual Arts Instructor at William K. New Sullivan Elementary School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in arts education.
With more than 25 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Netter has excelled as an outstanding visual art instructor with William K. New Sullivan Elementary School since 2010. A teacher for grades between pre-kindergarten and eighth grade, she has been additionally active as a magnet cluster lead teacher and an arts liaison for the William K. New Sullivan Elementary School during this time. Prior to her present position, she found success as a teacher in Chicago Public Schools over the course of 14 years. Among the highlights of her career in education, Ms. Netter was proud to garner nearly $200,000 in grants throughout her tenure with the William K. New Sullivan Elementary School, including a grant for competitive ballroom dancing, in which her teams have been able to win on multiple occasions.
To support her professional endeavors, Ms. Netter pursued an education at Chicago State University, from which she earned a Bachelor of Arts in studio arts in 1995. She subsequently concluded her studies at DePaul University in 2000, graduating with a Master of Education in urban education. Attributing her success to the guidance and support she received from the fellow teachers in her family, she was drawn to her profession after briefly working as a substitute teacher, which inspired her to obtain her teacher’s certification. Looking toward the future, Ms. Netter hopes to introduce more art programs to the William K. New Sullivan Elementary School while branching out into theater learning and increasing her profile as a skilled public speaker.
