Lydia A. West-Moore, Retired Principal, Administrator and Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in educational administration.

Now retired, Ms. West-Moore excelled as a principal, administrator and curriculum director from 2000 to 2009. She also shared her expertise as an educator from 1974 to 2000. Among her roles, Ms. West-Moore taught sixth through 11th grade students. She also taught secondary mathematics and science at a junior high school level. To keep abreast of her field, she has maintained membership with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the Texas Teachers Association, the Texas Retired Teachers Association, the National Educators Association and the Austin Retired Teachers Association.

To prepare for her accomplished career in education, Ms. West-Moore graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a master’s degree in administration. Alongside her primary positions, she has contributed her time to the Ebenezer Third Baptist Church and as a volunteer tutor. For her professional excellence, Ms. West-Moore received Teacher of the Year awards from Pearce Junior High School and Kealing Junior High School. She attributes her success to her passion for education, focus and faith. In her spare time, she enjoys writing stories, dancing and completing puzzles.
