Michael Linso Lawrence Conteh, Project Program Coordinator and Research Fellow with the Office of the Chancellor at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academic administration and research.

Since 2021, Mr. Conteh has found success as a project program coordinator and research fellow with the Office of the Chancellor at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. In this role, he works on a project funded by the Mellon Foundation that seeks to craft democratic futures. Prior to this position, he was a graduate fellow at Rutgers from 2018 to 2021 and a graduate assistant at Michigan State University from 2014 to 2017. Mr. Conteh has found success through his written works, co-authoring “Perspectives on Gender in Science, Technology, and Innovation: A Review of Sub-Saharan Africa’s Science Granting Councils and Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals” in Frontiers in Research Metrics and Analytics in 2022. Among his accomplishments, he is proud of institutionalizing gender studies in the University of Namibia’s core curriculum for all first-year students.

In preparation for his career, Mr. Conteh earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and history at the University of Namibia in 2000. He obtained a Master of Arts in development studies specializing in women, gender and development at the International Institute of Social Studies in the Netherlands in 2005 and a Master of Science in criminal justice and law enforcement administration at Michigan State University in 2017. Mr. Conteh graduated from Rutgers with a Master of Science in global affairs in 2019 and is currently pursuing his doctorate in global affairs. For his accomplishments, he is the recipient of the Rutgers Graduate School Global Pathway Fellowship, a Rutgers Predoctoral Leadership Development Academy Fellowship, an Effective Teacher Practices Fellowship from the Association of College and University Educators, and an Emerging African Scholar Fellowship from the Association for Research Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action and the Association for Research on Civil Society in Africa. In his spare time, Mr. Conteh enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
