John Patrick Bobek, Junior High School Teacher at St. Daniel the Prophet School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in science education.
Mr. Bobek is an experienced professional science educator with over 50 years of job experience. He began his career as a teacher with the Archdiocese of Chicago in 1971 and went on to spend 40 years in this position. In 1973, he began working at the St. Daniel the Prophet School as a junior high school teacher, a position in which he excels to this day. Mr. Bobek served the St. Daniel the Prophet Parish as athletic director from 2012 to 2022. Since 2008, he has acted as the chairman of the Southside Catholic Conference.
Alongside his primary roles, Mr. Bobek is the past president and Region 2 current judging coordinator of the Illinois Junior Academy of Science. In preparation for his career, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois Chicago in 1971. Mr. Bobek published “The Games of War: A Treasury of Rules for Battles with Toy Soldiers, Ships and Planes.” Among his professional achievements, he cites a virtual science fair he hosted online for his students during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the coming years, he would like to write a faith-based book.
