Having accrued over 20 years of practiced expertise, Dr. Figueroa has excelled as an ESE inclusion teacher for the Hendry County School District. Drawing on prior experience as a legal administrator, she has worked with the school district for much of her career, specializing in special education. To wit, she is well-versed in developing curriculum and educational plans for children with special needs, as she works alongside school counselors, directorial staff members and therapists. Ever committed to her profession, Dr. Figueroa also remains active as a member of the National Educator Association.
As part of her vocational journey, Dr. Figueroa previously cultivated her own formal education. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lee University and a master’s degree in various exceptionalities from Florida Gulf Coast University, she achieved a PhD in organizational leadership at Grand Canyon University. Well-regarded for her professional and academic accomplishments, she was nominated for the honor of Hispanic Teacher of the Year by the Henry County Library Systems in 2013. Accounting for her achievements, Dr. Figueroa is most notably proud of her daughter.
