Dr. Hayden-Davis, Retired Professor at Alcorn State University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in biology and science education.
With decades of experience to her credit, Dr. Hayden-Davis most recently served as a professor at Alcorn State University from 1972 to 1998. In 1979, she was a research associate in pharmacology at the University of Mississippi, and in 1974, she served with the Department of Education in the Boston school system. Prior to her work as an educator, Dr. Hayden-Davis was a field manager with an insurance company for eight years and a mortgage broker for 10 years. For more than 25 years, she shared her knowledge as an educator at Auburn University. She garnered additional experience as a researcher with Oregon National Laboratory in 1973 and a FACHE fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1970.
In preparation for her career, Dr. Hayden-Davis attended Alcorn State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biology in 1962. She continued her higher education at Southern University and A&M College, earning a master’s degree in 1968. In 1978, she obtained a Doctor of Education in science education at the University of Southern Mississippi. To keep abreast of her field, Dr. Hayden-Davis has maintained affiliation with numerous professional organizations. She is a member of the Mississippi Teachers Association, Phi Beta Kappa and the Church of God in Christ. In the coming years, she plans to write and publish a book.
